Wyoming and Jackson

I can honestly say, I never thought I would really enjoy Wyoming. But, I am quickly falling for Wyoming and Jackson. Here are some random pictures I wanted to share. In no particular order. Some of them came out kind of small, so if you click them, I think they'll get bigger.

Jackson square decorated for Christmas, very pretty.

A winter sleigh ride.

Autumn, along the Snake River, what I though was my favorite time of the year.

Then I came here in the winter, and it so beautiful!

This is me after a week of snowboarding.
Not really, but we plan to take snowboarding up next winter. I'm so excited!

A giant, pretty fish. I don't know what it is, so don't ask me, please.

Did I mention that winter is so beautiful here? Everywhere you go is in the mountains, or along the river, or a stream. And the trees are awesomely pretty.

We are antsy to be able to get our bikes out.
Look how happy this guy looks!

A family of bears. Need I say more about that?

The only thing I don't really care for is that everything is cowboy.
So many log cabins and brown buildings. I suppose I'll get used to it. I still don't want to ride horses and slop pigs though.

Just a really pretty picture.

This is us in the summer when we were up for a family reunion. I'm the one on the far side in the red. Not really. This isn't us at all. There's a lot of rafting out here. I have a weird fear of the water. Well, I know why I'm afraid of water, but that's another story. But it sure looks fun, though, doesn't it?

The acclaimed arches at Jackson square. I heard the rebuild them every year. I don't know if that's true or not. But they're pretty cool.

One last picture of beautiful winter.

And some marmots we met on a picnic.

P.S. I did not take, nor am I affiliated with anyone who took any of these pictures. I just really like them. And I don't know any marmots.

Updates

Well, it has been an interesting past couple of months. We haven't sold our house yet, so Jake has been commuting weekly to Jackson. He is loving his new job, which makes it worth it. I come up and stay with him every other weekish. Here is the hotel we live in:

Hot stuff! Its not too bad, actually. Its just around the corner from Jake's office. Which is good, because last week we had some car troubles, and he had to walk to work. I felt bad because that was the week where the highs were around five degrees all week. What a stud.

Our car must hate us. Last Friday we were getting home from Jackson and we had a strong odor of burning something in the car. No, not that. On Saturday morning it started making LOUD noises so we took it in. They said there was about 1/4" of plastic holding the timing belt blah, blah, blah. If it had broken, it would have seized our engine. Ugh. So it was in the shop for a week. Then on Sunday, it started making MORE freaky noises. Jake checked the fluids and the steering fluid was completely empty. So we filled it up. But we decided that we are going to go trade it in. We'll see what we come out with. Probably a truck so we can haul stuff.

Other than that, our evenings consist of talking on the phone, scripture reading, trying to sell the house, and talking with the cat. Hopefully this won't go on forever.

House for Sale!

I think everyone knows this already, but we are moving! Jake has been offered a wonderful job in Jackson, WY. Neither one of us is very adventurous, so this is a big deal. However, we can't move until we sell our house here in Idaho Falls. So Jake will be commuting weekly until we sell. To show you the urgency, he starts on MONDAY!! Yikes! So if you know of anyone looking for a house please let them know about us or let us know about them.

As you can see, it is a wonderful house! A good size backyard to run crazy around with a garden spot, cherry tree, and a clothes line. That stove (which I am crying over right now) is a convection, glass top. And I love it so much! its about three years old. The fridge is about four years. Hardwood floors all throughout except kitchen and bathrooms. New windows. Metal roof. An awesome neighborhood and ward! Please keep us in your prayers that we sell quickly!

Our Garden

We haven't had the best luck with our garden this year. We got about two dozen peas. They were the sweetest peas I've ever tasted!
Our corn wasn't knee high by the fourth of July, so I don't think it will produce anything. Sad.
We have lots of sunflowers growing where the squirrels hid seeds!
And the saddest parts of our garden:

Our Cucumber who struggled for weeks!

Our pepper. Its not dead yet!

Our radishes that went to seed without producing anything, and were eaten by critters.

If any of you have secrets to gardening, I would love to hear them!

Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Chip n Dale

I love old Disney cartoons. We've recently started downloading them off of Youtube and burning them to DVDs to have at home. Here are a couple of my favorites of all time:

I couldn't find the camping one in English, but you get the idea. I love Disney!

New Hair

Okay, here's my new hair. I forgot to have Jake take my picture last night, so I took it this morning. Do you know how hard it is to take your own picture? That's why you don't get a front view. They didn't turn out. But I'm loving it!

Hairwhack

The time has come! I was finally able to chop my hair off! I've been growing it out all year so I would be able to have something to pull back at Girl's Camp. Well, Girl's Camp is over (which was a blast, by the way), and its past (passed?) time! So here is a before (sorry about it being sideways, is there even a way to turn the pictures?):
As you can see, its long beyond belief. The wave from the day's ponytail makes the color look funny, but its all the same, I promise. Jake did the initial chop. Here's my 11 inches of hair in two seperate ponytails:How come when hair is on your head, its pretty and beautiful and nice to touch? But the second that its not connected to any head, its revolting? I could barely hold on to it. It will be gone soon. I havn't gotten an after shot yet. I shaped it up last night, but I think I want more layers and a little shorter. So I'll work on that and then repost in a bit!

Sixth Anniversary!

Sunday was our sixth anniversary. I can't believe how time has flown! I was going to scan in some wedding pictures, but I forgot. Maybe I'll remember next time. We had tons planned for our weekend, but we got rained out on Saturday evening. We still had lots of fun spening the entire weekend together! We started with frisbee golf in the park. Does this picture remind you of anything? Just asking.

(The similarities are stunning! Go to Jake's facebook pictures to see the lego version of this picture)

Saturday morning we headed to Camas National Wildlife Refuge for birdwatching. Oh how we love the birdies! This picture was taken right before Jake scared away an owl the guy in front of us was trying to take a picture of. It was pretty awesome. We saw 58 different species on Saturday. So a good day. We were planning on taking our bikes out, but we thought we might get rained on. And we would've gotten poured on! We were going to go to the driving range, but it was raining. So we went home and worked on some chores till dinner. For dinner we went here:

If you haven't been here, GO! It is my FAVORITE! The steaks are sooooo good! The burgers are soooo good! We had gift cards or it might be a little pricey. But in my opinion it is worth every penny! yummm!!!!

Since we got rained out Saturday we went riding on Monday.

Getting ready to shove off at the park.

It was a little windy and chilly, but once we got going it was really nice. We stopped at the falls to take some pictures. Our chosen subjects were very different. There was a ton of water coming over and made for some pretty pictures. We got camelbaks for water while we ride. Oh my goodness! The best investment! It stretches how for we can go for miles! So nice!
Now I would like to share 5 reasons why I love Jake:
1. He is so funny and random! He cracks me up all the time with the things he comes up with. I'm sure he'll keep me laughing into the eternities!
2. He is a strong priesthood holder. He takes his responsibilities seriously and is an excellent example to others and his Young Men.
3. He is a hard worker. He works hard even if he doesn't like the project he's doing and has worked really hard to get his business going.
4. He is a gentleman. He always opens the car doors (and other doors) for me. Unless it is raining and then we both just run. He treats me like a lady and always makes me feel like his #1.
5. We have the same goals and the same ideals.
I love you sweetheart!

Pinewood Derby

This past weekend our ward had its Pinewood Derby contest. A family event that turned out to be so fun! Here is the starting line: Here is the ending line. Who's that fine looking backup judge? Oh that's right, my hot husband. We really stunk it up and lost both of our races, double elimination. But Jake had a ton of fun making it. We did however win Best Workmanship!I couldn't get a very clear picture, but Jake made little stickers with us on them so we could be riding in the car. This is me. I won't post a bunch of blurry pictures, but they really turned out cute. Porkchop was riding in the back. We got lots of compliments! Thanks Sara for letting me steal a couple of your pictures!
